The Minnesota COPE Program is a community outreach organization designed to encourage students to pursue a college education. The organization arranges and provides the necessary tutoring and/or mentoring programs to assure that students achieve their highest academic, personal and professional goals. Our main objective is to assist Scholars with their career goals and activities in preparing them for a successful transition to post-secondary educational programs of their choice.
What We Offer:
• ACT/SAT college-preparatory classes offered by the University Of Minnesota (Twin Cities), local high schools, and
community organizations;
• Field trips, college fairs, and college tours;
• Financial-aid workshops, financial planning and/or financial literacy seminars;
• Assist with filling out college admission and financial aid application;
• Health and wellness seminars;
• Volunteer community service projects; and,
• An Annual COPE Scholarship Program/Fundraiser to recognize Scholars’ accomplishments.
Note: Student and family donated award back to the organization.
Captain Thomas Bailey, resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota – scholarship funds to assist community youth in Aviation ($500.00, Thomas Bailey Aviation Award); sponsored by Walmart Oak Park/Stillwater, Minnesota.
Jaylen Fitzgerald McDaniels, Senior @ Jackson State University, Jackson, Mississippi ($500.00, Awards Books and Materials); sponsored by donors from Mississippi and Alumni Members.
Ashton Timorris McLin, Sophomore @ Jackson State University, Jackson, Mississippi ($500.00, Awards Books and Materials); sponsored by donors from Jackson, Mississippi, and Alumni Members.
