During the spring and summer months (May through July), Ms. Dorothy is preparing the next generation of youth for success. Her mentorship includes having the students assist her in raising funds for the organization; and they help to prepare and organize the ‘Annual Scholarship Celebration and Lawn Party’.
While Scholars are volunteering, they have an opportunity to meet COPE’s donors/businesses, owners, and managers in the community, who are our partners and sponsors supporting our organization. This experience allows our scholars to present themselves with confidence; develop great leadership and communication skills. Occasionally, our youth have a chance to meet other students in the program, and our adult board members and volunteer mentors.
